After redesign of campaign WinDev sells out...
Problem
WinDev East was barely breaking even. The developers were spending a great deal of money on its annual conference. The conference, aimed at Windows developers, had barely broken even in previous years and it had almost been cancelled due to a lack of attendees. This was a crucial year. The future would be determined by the number of attendees. The audience was professional programmers who are often so involved in their work that they are sometimes difficult to reach.
Solution
Cognito spent countless hours searching to find the right visual; one that would give energy to this conference. Suddenly, there it was, “Flounder” was found! This was the name given to an image of a bald-headed man with his mouth wide open. This brought a smile to everyone who saw it. It also aroused curiosity and became successfully identified with the conference. It was also used on reminder cards, signage and invitations.
Results
In a surprising turn of events, the conference sold out. All conditions were similar to previous years: the same mailing list, the same speakers, the same economic conditions. The only variable was a new design... one that caught the attention of the developers and somehow gave them a feeling of belonging. Many attendees commented on the design. An additional conference was slated for the west coast.
"With Cognito's creativity and work ethic, any company would be in capable hands by working with them. It would be my sincere pleasure to boast on their behalf when given the opportunity. Cognito is reliable, trustworthy, gracious and their work speaks for itself."
