Problem
The owner of Print Resource, David Sears, knew that the current company logo was outdated. It projected an unprofessional impression, failed to convey it mission, and needed a dramatic update. In short, it was boring and unimpressive. However, David’s father had created the original logo, and he was having a hard time making any changes. He knew that the current logo failed to attract its target audience of high-caliber design agencies, art directors, and graphic designers.
Solution
Cognito proposed a solution that filled the staff with enthusiasm and excitement. The new logo captured the essence of the company, attracted its target audience, and set it apart from its competitors. The new logo revealed four colored sheets of paper flying off a printing press, and suggesting 4-color printing. The new logo was timeless, uncomplicated and symbolic.
Results
Shortly after the redesign of the logo, Print Resource was so excited that they printed their new identity on a multitude of marketing material. These included promo items and clothing... even donut boxes! They etched the logo onto steel products. Sales started to rise. They soon were able to hire new employees. Revenues climbed. Following a downturn in the economy, many print companies went out of business while Print Resource was thriving. Since then, the logo has achieved worldwide recognition in several publications featuring compelling logo design.
