Problem
MeetingMakers, a local meeting management company, was growing and expanding rapidly. During this time, they were embarrassed about their original low-budget logo and its lack of identity. The original logo was not clear, did not deliver a professional appearance, and failed to capture the essence of the company and its mission. They realized that it was time for a change and needed a new identity.
Solution
Cognito agreed to tackle the problem. While working up a multitude of initial concepts, a spark of inspiration finally transpired. Cognito slid two M’s together (MeetingMakers). The designer then envisioned a “people chain” by adding an oval, representing a person, above the M’s. This instantaneously captured their mission of bringing people together and making connections. This was the moment Cognito rushed to MeetingMakers to meet with its president. What happened next was a revelation.
Results
Upon meeting with the president, several excited remarks roared out. “Oh my, how did you ever possibly come up with that!” The enthusiasm aroused curiosity and spread like wildfire. The majority of the employees came to see to see what all the excitement was about. Cognito had produced the one design that accurately positioned the company and helped the company achieve eye-opening recognition. Company morale was significantly increased. After their identity was developed, sales increased significantly. MeetingMakers was then acquired by a leading, full-service travel management company. Since then the logo has achieved worldwide recognition in several publications featuring corporate identity.
