Foot traffic came to a screeching halt...

Problem

Boston University needed an effective sign for a trade show... one that would grab attention and corral people into its booth. The previous signage was outdated, overloaded with text, and not professionally designed. Competition was intense, and the design needed to stand out from the crowd with a quick, clever, eye-grabbing image. The sign needed to attract IT professionals and career transitioners.

Solution

After a rigorous and tedious search, a photograph entitled “Soar Guy” was discovered. The image was perfect as it targeted its intended audience of IT professionals who were interested in launching a career in technology. The photo captured and instantly communicated the message, “You can launch a career in IT!” In addition, the image was unique and projected a subtle sense of humor. The image “woke up” its intended audience.

Results

The image of The ‘Soar Guy’ made quite a stir. The director reported that foot traffic suddenlly caused a human traffic jam. Nearly everone stopped, stared and asked questions. “Soar Guy” resulted in a significant number of student enrollments.
